About Club Wort
Club Wort, a 50+ member homebrew club, is based in the northwest suburbs (Palatine, IL) of Chicago. Created in 1992, Club Wort is one of the oldest homebrew clubs in the Chicago area. We dedicate ourselves to teaching and enhancing the brewing process, the moderate consumption of fine ales and lagers, and the enlightenment of the masses.
Club Wort serves as both a social club and an activity center. Among our many events, we have annual pub crawls, an annual picnic, club brew-ins, and monthly meetings. In 2022, Club Wort successfully hosted its inaugural AHA-sanctioned homebrew competition, Wortapalooza.
Membership Dues
Membership years run April through March. Membership dues are $25 per year, which entitles each member to the monthly newsletter, “Worts Happening,” access to club events including Brew-ins on the club’s 50 gallon system, access to borrow club equipment, club pub crawls, summer and holiday parties, book club, and discounts at several homebrew supply shops. Our members run the gamut from new brewers to experienced all grain brewers. We even have one professional brewer in our ranks.
Check us out at one of our meetings (see the calendar). If you’re interested in joining, please fill out the Member Questionnaire, and come to a meeting to check us out. Your first visit is free!
